I feel the same way. There are clear benefits, but so far we’ve proven to be pretty terrible at anticipating the negative effects. I don’t think we’ve even begun to grapple with the impact of algorithms on our thinking processes, simplying complex issues to “good” or “bad” and sharpening polarization. It’s like the more we advance technologically, the more we regress as a society. We should probably do something about that.
